Connected care. For Kenya's families.
TotoAfya Digital connects mothers, community health volunteers, and clinical nurses across dispensaries and maternity centers — ensuring offline-first health registries, KEPI vaccine scheduling, and WHO growth tracking follow the patient everywhere.

Care doesn't happen in one place.
A mother's healthcare journey spans community visits, local dispensaries, sub-county maternity centers, and immunization clinics over two years. When paper registers stay in one building or internet cuts out, records disappear.
Registration & Antenatal Intake
Pregnancy begins with a Community Health Volunteer (CHV) encounter or dispensary visit. Physical paper booklets are easily misplaced before labor.
Hospital Delivery & Labor Ward
Delivery takes place at a referral facility miles away. Attending midwives often lack previous ANC vitals, blood pressure history, or blood group records.
Immunization & Child Growth Milestones
Over the child's first 24 months, KEPI vaccinations and WHO weight checks require continuous monitoring. Without automated alerts, dropouts go undetected.
Care follows the mother — not the facility.
TotoAfya Digital maintains a single synchronized record across mother, nurse, and facility administrator portals. Workflows run seamlessly online or offline.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does TotoAfya handle low or no connectivity in rural dispensaries?
TotoAfya Digital utilizes an encrypted client-side storage engine (IndexedDB) that permits clinical nurses and CHVs to register patients, log vitals, record ANC parameters, and view KEPI schedules without active internet. When a network connection is detected, data synchronizes to cloud servers automatically.
How does TotoAfya align with the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019?
Patient records are encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). Access controls enforce strict role-based authorization (Mother, Nurse, Facility Lead, County Admin), ensuring health workers only access data for their authorized facility.
Can health facilities process payments via M-Pesa?
Yes. Facility subscriptions and caregiver plans support Safaricom Lipa na M-Pesa STK push transactions. Institutions can also request formal invoicing for local bank transfers or county check processing.
Does TotoAfya replace clinical diagnosis or medical officers?
No. TotoAfya Digital is a clinical workflow and supportive educational guidance engine. The 24/7 Health Companion is strictly non-diagnostic, providing educational information based on WHO protocols and directing mothers to their assigned health facility whenever red-flag symptoms arise.
How can county health departments initiate a pilot assessment?
County health directors and program leads can contact our partnerships team at partnerships@totoafya.co.ke or via our contact form to arrange a technical demonstration and hardware assessment.
Let's keep care connected.
Arrange a technical demonstration for your dispensary, maternity center, or county health department.
